DETROIT CITY JAZZ ORCHESTRA PLUS Photos

The detroit city jazz orchestra PLUS

    Donate through paypal!

The mission of the Detroit City Jazz Orchestra Plus is to entertain, educate and advocate through music the culture of the people of Detroit and their humanity.  This exciting ensemble was founded by cultural and educational catlyst Reverend Dan Aldridge and co founder and leader baritone saxophonist Alex Harding.  The DCJOP performs a wide range of music and includes music that is composed and arranged by stellar composers from the Detroit area.

Join us on March 16, 2024 at THE CUBE at Orchestra Hall for our  tribute to the iconic Jones Brothers; Hank, Thad and Elvin Jones.  They were some of the most prolific composers and artists from the Detroit Metropolitan area.    For tickets visit https://www.dso.org/events-and-tickets/events/23-24-winter/detroit-city-jazz-orchestra-plus-a-tribute-to-the-jones-brothers?fbclid=IwAR13oEatVrJrVI0wL_tCcbJXqi6uI5Ymt1iAf0C9YciKF7d_G95I7Ajkx6o

    WOMEN WHO DRUM

    DONATE TODAY through Paypal!

Rebirth is proud to present WOMEN WHO DRUM which is an organization that highlights women's contribution to the rhythm of the world.  Drummer Gayelynn McKinney is the founder and produces a festival every year in Detroit in dedication to Women Who Drum.  May 7, 2023 was the fundraising concert for the festival, but you can still donate!

Gayelynn started an idea to produce a festival last year to feature women as  drummers and band leaders. This exciting production is building awareness to thousands of women drummers, but apparently, people are  not familiar with them. Women bandleaders are rarely seen, as well. Our lack of  visibility is the driving force behind my mission to showcase women as  drummers and bandleaders.

This festival event will be held in Detroit and  free to the public; however, costs will be incurred. These costs are  artist fees, flights, event insurance, sound, backline, video  documentation, tent, chair rentals, catering, lodging, and ground  transportation. The estimated cost is $60,000.

Your  contributions will make this festival a reality and make it possible  for people of all ages to come and enjoy the music FREE of charge.

If you would like to donate or participate contact her at cymbalic72@yahoo.com.
